2009 College Rankings
Since 1984, the magazine US News and World Report has published a ranking of U.S. colleges named America's Best Colleges. The magazine edition of Best Colleges 2009 will be available August 25, 2008, and the rankings were published on the magazine's Web site August 22, 2008.1

Criticism
The rankings are sometimes criticized for failing to take into account students' individual needs and the schools' uniqueness, and for encouraging students to focus too much on a school's prestige when deciding where to apply.4
